Today's lesson

Note to self: Babies are not cats. Holding something jangly just out of reach and pulling it away when they try to grab it will not result in hours of fun as they repeatedly leap to snatch it from you. It will simply make them cry and make you look mean in front of everybody.

Oh, but it gets those babies used to what life has in store for them. Plus, being mean to babies is kind of fun.

Really. Those babies need to be taught a lesson anyway. Always "waaah waaah" this and "waaah waaah" that.

You can't always get what you want, babies.

The thing is, it works. The more furious a cat gets and the more it jumps and swipes at whatever you're holding, the more you giggle and taunt it. The baby starts crying, and you hand it over right away. That's why babies are higher on the evolutionary scale.
